MTN supports the Ugandan team at the All Africa Inter- University Games

Kampala, Uganda: MTN has fulfilled its promise to support The National University Sports Federation of Uganda (NUSFU) in preparing the Ugandan team for the All Africa Inter-University games due to take place from 6th to 16th July 2008 at Makerere University Kampala.
MTN has provided a cash contribution of UGX 60 million, and a package that includes a set of jerseys for the soccer team, casual T-Shirts and tracksuits.
“MTN has always affirmed its commitment towards the development of sports in Uganda, and this is one of the ways we deliver on that promise. We want to see Uganda retaining the Gold at home, and we hope that MTN’s contribution helps us do that” said MTN PRO Sheila Kangwagye.
“MTN will also provide all the trophies, medals and certificates that will be awarded throughout the course of the games,” she added.
Universities from 16 countries have so far confirmed their participation in the Makerere University hosted games scheduled to take place between. Some of the confirmed countries include Egypt, Kenya, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Tanzania, South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria.
The Universities will compete in 17 sports disciplines including Taekwondo, Judo, Basketball, Football, Karate, Netball, Volleyball, Chess, Tennis, Squash and Wood Ball among others.
