Hawker wins 6th MTN Goal of Goals House

Release date:4/7/2010
Kampala, Uganda: Joyce Nalukambi Kasozi emerged the sixth winner of a furnished house in the ongoing MTN Goal of Goals World Cup promotion. Nalukande, a clothes hawker, was announced on Sunday during the live weekly TV broadcast on NTV and UBC.
The Makerere Kivulu resident becomes only the second lady to win the ultimate prize after Teddy Nabukwasi, a primary school teacher from Mbale who was the third winner. The other four winners include, Amon Turyasungira, Goeffrey Matege, Hamza Yusuf and the previous winner from Mukono Swale Yusuf.
Speaking during the handover of the house to Nalukambi, MTN Uganda Foundation Trustee Maria Kiwanuka noted the positive impact that the promotion has had on people’s lives.
“We are here yet again to witness the transformation of the life of another Ugandan and her family. Today, Joyce who is with us here, is the lucky winner of the sixth MTN Goal of Goals house and we are here to join her and her family to mark this memorable occasion,” said Mrs. Kiwanuka. She added “Already, the five previous winners have testified on how their lives were dramatically changed for the better by this promotion.”
Nalukambi, a mother of three, was still in disbelief even after receiving the keys to her new home in Namungoona. “I had heard about the draw and in fact heard about people winning but I had never thought that I would ever win a house. This is hard to believe,” she stated.
Apart from the houses other prizes on offer include LG refrigerators, Sony DVD Home Theatre Systems and Sony 32" Plasma Screen TV sets all courtesy of the MTN, the official mobile telephone services provider for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The results of the final winners are verified and certified by renowned accounting and auditing firm, Ernst & Young.
